May 15, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D–Lehigh/Northampton) announced a $50,000 legislative grant during Hindu Temple Society of the Lehigh Valley’s Holi Spring Festival on May 9th, to support the organization’s kitchen expansion and modernization project. Senator Miller delivered opening remarks to kick off the celebration before making the grant announcement.

Holi, known as the Festival of Colors, marks the arrival of spring and celebrates unity, joy, and renewal. The annual event brings together families and community members from across the Lehigh Valley and shows cultural performances by local children and youth, including music and dance.

“Nearly a year ago, I visited the Hindu Temple Society of the Lehigh Valley and saw firsthand the need to support their expansion,” said Senator Miller. “I’m proud to return during this vibrant celebration of Holi to announce a $50,000 grant to help modernize and expand their kitchen. This investment will strengthen the Temple’s ability to serve a growing community and expand its charitable outreach. Holi is a celebration of renewal and unity, and I’m honored to support a new chapter of growth that will benefit families across the Lehigh Valley.”

“Lehigh Valley comes alive with the magic of Holi — a kaleidoscope of colors, rhythm, dance, and the rich flavors of authentic Indian cuisine,” said Pattabiraman Neelakantan, Chairman of Hindu Temple Society.
