July 18, 2025 – Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh-Northampton) announces three 14th District community organizations will be awarded 275 laptops from Governor Shapiro’s PA Digital Connectivity Technology Program (DCTP) grant via the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA).

This grant program by the PBDA supplies laptops to non-profits, community organizations, and government entities who will loan or offer the laptops to Pennsylvanians, enhancing education, workforce development, health, and employment opportunities.

The following amounts were awarded:

  • Black Heritage Association of the Lehigh Valley – 70 Laptops
  • Casa Guadalupe Center – 165 Laptops
  • Hispanic American Organization – 40 Laptops

“Thanks to Governor Shapiro and the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA), we are making significant strides in providing digital access to all Pennsylvanians,” said Senator Miller. “These investments will ensure that students can learn without limits, small businesses can thrive in the modern economy, and families can access life-saving telemedicine, and every person can connect with the resources they need. In today’s digital era, it is nearly impossible to imagine life without technology. We must continue to improve access to technology and build bridges rather than barriers so that every Pennsylvanian has the chance to succeed in this rapidly evolving digital age.”

PBDA is dedicated to bridging the digital divide, ensuring that all residents have access to affordable and reliable high-speed broadband internet. Their mission is to develop and promote equitable, affordable, and resilient high-speed broadband infrastructure and services that meet the needs of the 21st century and beyond.
