Allentown, PA – August 13, 2025 – Today, Sen. Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton), alongside Lehigh Valley Community Foundation, announced at West Park’s First Defender Memorial the latest round of funding available through a grant obtained by Miller’s office for the Lehigh Valley Homeless Veterans Fund. These grants will support in veteran-focused programs addressing housing, employment, finance, life skills, and various other services tailored for veterans.
“Veterans have courageously defended our nation and safeguarded the freedoms we cherish, and they deserve adequate support upon their return home and afterwards,” said Senator Miller. “These grants aim to ensure no veteran is left behind by assisting to secure transitional housing and accessing other supportive programs that will enable them to have fulfilling lives at home. I take great pride in supporting our veterans in any way possible, especially through programs that enhance their quality of life.”

“The Lehigh Valley Homeless Veterans Fund allows us to block grant funds to local nonprofits that provide services to homeless and at-risk of homeless veterans and their families,” said Thomas Applebach, Director of Lehigh County Office of Veterans Affairs. “The funds augment other grants that the agencies use to provide these services. Money for the fund comes from various grants, but also through tax-deductible donations from individuals and Lehigh Valley businesses.”
