WHITEHALL, PA – July 23, 2025 – Today, Sen. Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton), alongside the Whitehall Township Police Department, announced a state grant of $50,000 to support the purchase of new e-bikes and police equipment. Following the announcement of the grant, Miller’s office partnered with the Whitehall Police Department to host a complimentary license plate inspection and replacement event. This event gave residents a chance to have their damaged license plates examined and start the process of obtaining a replacement, at no charge to them.
“Securing investments for the Whitehall Police Department is a key step toward strengthening their daily operations and ensuring they have the resources they need to continue to serve and protect our community,” said Senator Miller. “With the rapid growth of our region, making sure these officers are well-equipped to manage the day-to-day requirements of their jobs is crucial. The equipment funded through these grants is designed to do exactly that. My team and I were also grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Township officers today to offer free license plate inspection and replacement assistance, resulting in safer roads for all of us.”
“Community events like this license plate inspection are just one of the many ways Senator Miller and his team support our community,” said Chief Marks. “Their commitment to improving our local, county, and state areas is clear. The Senator and his team are always seeking opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects and ensure our tax dollars make the greatest possible impact.”
Residents who were unable to attend the event but may have a worn or damaged license plate that needs replacing, may contact Senator Miller’s Allentown office for assistance at 610-821-8468.
