February 26, 2026 − Sen. Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) announced an $875,000 grant to be invested in the Lehigh Valley through the Pennsylvania Strategic Investments to Enhance Sites (PA SITES) program for the first time. The program is designed to prepare more shovel-ready industrial sites across the Commonwealth, helping attract and expand businesses, drive investment, and create good-paying jobs in Pennsylvania.
Senator Miller introduced the original legislation, Senate Bill 16 of 2024, focused on preparing sites for business development. The first round of PA SITES awards was announced in May 2025 and the second round in October 2025. It has been instrumental in securing more than $146.4 million for 37 projects statewide, including $31 million as part of today’s third round of program investments.
“PA SITES is transforming underutilized land into engines of opportunity that will create jobs, attract major investment, and position Pennsylvania as a national leader in economic development,” said Senator Miller. “This latest round of funding strengthens our competitive edge with neighboring states and sends a clear message: the Commonwealth is open for business.”
The project is listed below:
- $875,000 to Eastupland Associates to support the demolition of the existing SureStay Hotel in Hanover Township.
