June 17, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) hosted a drive-through Damaged License Plate Replacement Event at Catasauqua Park, where he also announced a $25,000 grant award for the Catasauqua Police Department alongside Police Chief John Wiseman, Mayor Anthony Calde, and local partners.
The funding will help the department purchase critical public safety equipment, including AEDs and backup batteries for patrol vehicles, lockout kits for emergency situations, and specialized camera equipment to support criminal investigations and courtroom evidence. These investments will strengthen emergency response capabilities and help officers continue protecting residents throughout the borough.
“I am proud to have secured this funding to help the Catasauqua Police Department continue its important work of protecting our community,” said Senator Miller. “These investments will provide officers with critical lifesaving, investigative, and emergency response tools that strengthen public safety and improve service to residents. Today’s event highlights our shared commitment to keeping drivers safe and ensuring law enforcement has the resources needed to serve our community effectively.”
“We are grateful to Senator Miller and his office for their help in securing this grant for our community,” said Mayor Alcalde. “These types of partnerships strengthen our community and demonstrate a positive impact between local and state leaders working together. We appreciate the Senator’s support and look forward to putting these funds to work for our residents.”
