June 26, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) announced that the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center has been awarded a $50,000 grant, secured by his office, to support its Community Program, which provides outreach services, community group facilitation, program operations, and resources through its Care Cupboard initiative.

The Care Cupboard offers free essential household and personal care items to LGBTQ+ individuals experiencing financial hardship throughout the Lehigh Valley. Community members can access these resources during the center’s operating hours.

Bradbury-Sullivan’s Community Programs provide opportunities for connection, education, support, and personal development for LGBTQ+ individuals and families. Programming includes youth engagement activities, educational workshops, arts and cultural events, peer support groups, and community resource navigation.

“During Pride Month, we are reminded of the importance of ensuring every person feels valued, supported, and empowered to fully participate in the community we all share. The Bradbury-Sullivan Center creates welcoming spaces and strong communities by providing residents with the support, resources, and connections they need to thrive,” said Senator Miller. “This $50,000 investment will help Bradbury-Sullivan continue providing valuable services that reduce isolation, address basic needs, and strengthen community well-being for residents across the Lehigh Valley who rely on their programming.”

“As Executive Director of Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, I am incredibly grateful to Senator Nick Miller for championing this funding at a time when LGBTQ+ organizations are facing significant financial challenges and increased demand for services,” said Krista Brown-Ly, Executive Director at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center. “Following major cuts to our outreach and community programming, this investment allows us to continue showing up for our community every day and providing in-person services at our Center. For many LGBTQ+ people, our Center is more than a building—it is a place of belonging, connection, healing, and joy. These funds help us sustain our dedicated team, keep our Care Cupboard stocked with essential supplies, provide outreach and referrals, and host more than 15 community programs each month that foster community and support. At a time when LGBTQ+ people are facing increased attacks on our rights, visibility, and wellbeing, this funding sends a powerful message: our community matters. We are grateful for Senator Miller’s leadership and for the Commonwealth’s continued commitment to investing in LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians. Together, we are ensuring that LGBTQ+ people in the Lehigh Valley have access to affirming spaces where they can not only survive but truly thrive.”

The center’s programming also includes Family Fun Days, youth drop-in opportunities, and community events that foster social connection, promote positive mental health outcomes, and help individuals access critical resources.
