April 9, 2026 – Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) announced today that two farms in Northampton County will be preserved through Pennsylvania’s Farmland Preservation Program. The State Agriculture Land Preservation Board voted today to preserve 2,645 acres on 31 farms in 20 counties across Pennsylvania, protecting them from future residential or commercial development.

“Today’s announcement reaffirms Pennsylvania’s leadership in farmland preservation and our commitment to supporting local farmers and the agricultural industry,” said Senator Miller. “By preserving two additional farms in Northampton County, we are ensuring these lands remain productive, protected from future commercial development, and able to continue serving our communities for generations to come.”

Below are the investments:

  • Richard R. Becker, Jr. and Carol J. Becker and John E. and Debra K. Becker, 61-acre crop farm, Lehigh Township, Northampton County
