ALLENTOWN, PA – Today, Senator Nick Miller held a roundtable discussion on startups and small businesses with the Pennsylvania Competitiveness Caucus, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation, and local business leaders.
This legislative roundtable focused on state programs and legislative policies to foster new business creation, forge successful career paths, and incentivize economic growth.
“Today’s roundtable highlights how Pennsylvania is driving innovation and creating opportunities by supporting small businesses and fostering new business growth,” said Senator Miller. “These conversations help us bring fresh ideas back to Harrisburg to guide policy that strengthens entrepreneurship and job creation. Thank you to AEDC for hosting today’s event, our Co-Chairs Senators Phillips-Hill, Representative Friel, along with PA Chamber’s Berstein, and all participants for contributing to this important dialogue.”
“Pennsylvania has made significant progress in recent years because leaders in both parties have stayed focused on pro-growth reforms that strengthen our competitiveness,” said Luke Bernstein, President & CEO, PA Chamber of Business and Industry. “The work of the Competitiveness Caucus has helped drive that momentum by leading efforts to modernize our tax code to support startups and small businesses, streamline permitting and regulatory reviews, and investing in our workforce. Conversations like this roundtable — held in communities across the commonwealth — are essential to identifying what’s working and what still needs attention so Pennsylvania remains a place where businesses can start, grow, and succeed.”
“For more than 35 years Allentown Economic Development Corporation’s (AEDC) Bridgeworks Enterprise Center has supported local entrepreneurs, and specifically those innovating in manufacturing,” said Scott Unger, Executive Director of Allentown Economic Development Corporation. “We are proud to host this meaningful roundtable discussion to highlight how supporting start-ups fosters innovation and strengthens our regional economy.”
