Allentown, PA − January 17, 2025 − Today, Senator Nick Miller and local legislators joined Governor Josh Shapiro at Harrison-Morton Middle School to celebrate historic education investments and a shared commitment to strengthening communities by creating opportunities for future generations.

“It’s an honor to welcome Governor Shapiro to our region and to have such a dedicated champion for education in the Governor’s Office,” said Sen. Miller. “Together with the Allentown delegation in the House, we’ve worked tirelessly to make education a top priority, foster innovation, and lay the foundation for a brighter future.”

This year’s state budget marked a significant milestone, with historic investments in education, including critical funding for school repairs and infrastructure upgrades. These investments aim to ensure that students can learn in safe, supportive environments, empowering them to reach their full potential and preparing them to become the skilled workforce of tomorrow.

“A quality education is the cornerstone of a thriving society,” Sen. Miller continued. “By investing in our schools, we’re not just addressing immediate needs but also paving the way for long-term growth and success across the commonwealth.”

The Governor’s visit highlighted the importance of ongoing collaboration between state and local leaders to deliver meaningful progress for Pennsylvania’s students and communities.

“We’re proud of the strides we’ve made, but our work is far from over,” Miller added. “Together, we can ensure that every student has access to the resources they need to succeed.”
