ALLENTOWN, PA – October 2, 2025 – Today, Senator Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) participated in a hands-on experience as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels Greater Lehigh Valley, where he had the opportunity to learn directly from recipients about the challenges they face.

The “Walk-A-Day” initiative sought to highlight the substantial contributions of Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley to the community, as well as the pressing need for support at this time, by listening firsthand to residents who need these services and volunteers who take time to serve their own communities.

“Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley has long been a vital resource, providing both hot and cold meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout our region,” said Senator Miller. “Since many MOWGLV clients are homebound and may not be able to attend town halls or in person events, this walk-a-day offered them an opportunity to talk to me directly about their stories and priorities. The simple act of delivering meals, whether for those in long-term need or those requiring temporary assistance, highlights the invaluable work that MOWGLV accomplishes.”

“We are grateful to Senator Miller for joining us on deliveries today,” said Dina Kovats-Bernat. “By walking alongside our volunteers and meeting the clients we serve, he helped shine a light on the vital work Meals on Wheels does every day to combat hunger and isolation. His support underscores the importance of ensuring that our most vulnerable neighbors can remain healthy, safe, and independent at home for as long as possible.”
